Bonsai Fleabane
2 August
I have very little grass to mow, but a small patch between the drive and a huge magnolia tree gets attention every now and again. I decided to give it a quick trim this morning and found a very small Aster growing there. I am thinking that it had been cut in the past, probably several times, and so was becoming naturally ‘bonsaied’ … ? One of the many Asters, almost certainly a Fleabane and I am going out on a reasonably thick limb to propose this might be Daisy Fleabane (Erigeron strigosus) … I am open to discussion though. About eight inches high with a pale blue/mauve tint to the petals.

Wee but loveable !😍
