There is a small quarry in the middle of the arboretum that holds water at this time of the year and occasionally is visited by migratory birds passing through. Later in the summer it will be dry, but for now interesting travelers may drop by.
Elsewhere in the arboretum there was an interesting dead log. During my peregrinations I was keeping a record of birds seen and heard which included Northern Parulas and Black-throated Green warblers, Red-eyed Vireos and Common Ravens … but then I somehow deleted the list on my phone so I can not share the details. never done that before, still don’t know how I did it. Over 20 species anyway, I do remember that.
