I ran into this quote from Henry Miller that seems well suited to your work: “The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.”

Nice - thanks, I will file that away. More trees next week, rather nerdy presented too

Good to have you back Richard. One of the reasons I enjoy your stuff is that I never once suspect you’re AI—that’s a good thing these days—and you nearly always remind me to slow down and look around.

Thanks Tom … much appreciated. I do use AI for illustration when i don’t have some suitable of my own but I never call it art and I always instruct it to use a style that is clearly non-photographic. Words are my own, as are errors. Lots more to come in the weeks ahead.

Ah yes, the illustrations … I find myself more “forgiving” of these, probably because I too am primarily a wordsmith but recognize that illustrations and photographs help.

Excellent article.

Edinburgh Botanic Gardens have a wonderful selection of rowans from across the world!

That I would like to see … we “might” be in Scotland next spring.

Great read on Rowen! I was captivated by its clusters of fiery berries the first time I saw it. I’d love to have one in my yard someday.
