So cool! Yes, it just takes calm and powers of observation. We hear so much about the lack of insects, but you've opened our eyes to so many different ones. Thanks. I hope it isn't going to be a big year for the Japanese beetles. It wasn't too bad last year.

We have one rose in the garden that the JB's simply love - Jean visits twice a day, collects the beetles in soapy water and counts them (really!). Last year was BADS - here but none yet this summer.

Yes, that's what we do too, (without the counting 😉 ) They like our canna lilies, and we did have some, but not as much as the previous year, when we still had a honeysuckle. We're in Ottawa.
