The Arboretum sounds like a wonderful place to walk! Our closest equivalent would be Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens, but although it is possible to get slightly lost in the maze of paths, it's not really that big. The arboretum here is mostly a wild forest with a bit of gentle trail management. When I first discovered it I had not long before been to the Westonbirt Arboretum and was expecting something as heavily managed as that ... it was a surprise how different it was. As for botanic gardens, if you ever get a chance to visit the one in Cambridge you are in for a treat.

Ah, Arboretum to me implies something fairly managed. Yes, I visited Cambridge Botanic gardens a couple of times, it's a lovely place.
