It was ... we get something like this every (say) 5-10 years but this was by far the best. It's chance, being in the right place at the right time but the garden waterfall certainly draws in any birds that happen to be around.
My wife and I were at Terra Casa, a premium gardening supply store in Damascus Oregon looking for electric driven waterfall substitutes. Why? Because you sold us in the idea!
Right now we are running four bird baths in the backyard. Since NW Oregon has been a bit dry for a few days now, they were all doing a good business when we got home from Terra Casa. Bush tits, northern Jays, juncos, song sparrows, even towhees, purple finches and gold finches were present but avoided the traffic.at the baths.
